Guidelines for Nomination:
Nominations will be accepted September 1 through December 31 each year for consideration by the selection committee for inclusion on the Honored Hawk (Wall of Honor) for that school year. Nominees are considered based on the significant contributions they have made to our community and school. Nomination forms should provide as much detail as possible regarding the nominee, including background information, supporting evidence for the nomination, special honors and notable achievements. Incomplete submissions and those without sufficient information may not be considered.
Purpose: Recognizing the rich history of outstanding achievements of Hawkins ISD students, personnel, community, and volunteers who have made significant contributions to our district.
Each person nominated must be of outstanding character and able to serve as a positive, inspiring role model to young people and our community. The honorees exemplify the district’s vision and values.
This award is given in recognition of outstanding contributions and achievements meeting one or more of the following criteria:
Nomination Process
Nominations will be accepted from October 1 through December 1 each year for consideration by the selection committee for inclusion on the Wall of Honor for that school year. Nominees are considered based on the significant contributions they have made to our community and district.
Nomination forms should provide as much detail as possible regarding the nominee, including background information, supporting evidence for nomination, special honors and notable achievements. Incomplete submissions and those without sufficient information may not be considered. The selection committee may choose up to 8 honorees (individuals or groups) each year, but not limited to, in special situations as determined by the committee. Each nominee must receive at least two thirds vote by the selection committee.
Honorees will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, creed, religion, sex, nationality, disability, economic status, or material status.
Where is the Honored Hawk Wall?
The wall is located in the lobby of the administration building.
How are inductees honored?
Honorees will be recognized at a ceremony. Each honoree will receive a plaque, interviewed by local media, including our social media channels, and a photograph included on our Honored Hawk Wall. In addition, biographies will be on our district’s website for up to one year.

The nomination committee consists of the HISD Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, School Board President/Vice President, 2 educators and 2 members of the Hawkins community.
